چکیده

Cover crops are known to provide beneficial effects agricultural systems such as a reduction in nitrate leaching, erosion control, and an increase soil organic matter. The monitoring of cover crops’ growth (e.g., green area index (GAI), nitrogen (N) uptake, or dry matter (DM)) using remote sensing techniques allows us identify the physiological processes involved optimise management decisions. Based on data two-year trial (2018, 2019) Kiel, Northern Germany, multispectral sensor Sequoia (Parrot) was calibrated selected parameters winter oilseed radish, saia oat, spring vetch, rye sole combined mixtures. Two simple ratios (SRred, SRred edge) two normalised difference indices (NDred, NDred were calculated tested for their predicting power. Furthermore, advantage species/mixture–individual compared universal models analysed. best predicted GAI, DM, N uptake (R2: 0.60, 0.53, 0.45, respectively) model approach. canopy oat vetch estimated by species–individual models, achieving higher R2 than with model. Comparing mixture–individual revealed low relative error differences below 3%. findings current study serve tool rapid inexpensive estimation that determine environmental services.

Estimation of Nitrogen Vertical Distribution by Bi-Directional Canopy Reflectance in Winter Wheat

Timely measurement of vertical foliage nitrogen distribution is critical for increasing crop yield and reducing environmental impact. In this study, a novel method with partial least square regression (PLSR) and vegetation indices was developed to determine optimal models for extracting vertical foliage nitrogen distribution of winter wheat by using bi-directional reflectance distribution funct...

Cover crop effects on the fate of N in sweet maize (Zea mays L. saccharata Sturt.) production in a semiarid region

This research aimed to determine the effects of different cover crops and application ofbio-fertilizer on dynamic of nitrogen in the soil and sweet maize yield. Also, we evaluated theeffect of fall–winter species (common vetch, field pea, winter oats, fodder kale) and a mixtureof vetch and field pea with oats used as cover crops, as such as dead organic mulch andtraditional variant, without cov...

Survey the Effect of Cover Crops in Reduced Sunflower Weed Biomass

In order to evaluate the effects of cover crops on reduced weed biomass in hybrid sunflower an experiment was carried in the research stations, Natural Resources Medicinal Plants (Samian_Ardabile) with 3 replicates in 1390-1391. The first factor was considered three type of cover crops, winter rye, spring barley, winter wheat with 2 control treatment, second factor was mulch management at two ...

Evaluating Different Methods for Grass Nutrient Estimation from Canopy Hyperspectral Reflectance

The characterization of plant nutrients is important to understand the process of plant growth in natural ecosystems. This study attempted to evaluate the performances of univariate linear regression with various vegetation indices (VIs) and multivariate regression methods in estimating grass nutrients (i.e., nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P)) with canopy hyperspectral reflectance. Synthetically ...
